Soundblaster & Cakewalk Audio Pro 5.0 Sysex Dumps

IB Terry wrote that he was having trouble, occasionally, loading sysex. files with Cakewalk Audio Pro 5.0 /w a Sound Blaster AWE sound card. I have been having the same problem, especially if the sysex file is large, like a bulk sysex file. I think I have found a fix to the problem by reducing the size of the packets Cakewalk sends to the WS from the default of value of 1024 bytes to 512 bytes. This can be done by inserting the line:
SysxSendPacketSize=512
..in the Cakewalk file TTSSEQ.INI
This can also be done from Cakewalk by going to SETTINGS menu then the INITIALIZATION FILES sub-menu. Enter the above line and the value. Then restart Cakewalk for the change to take effect. If others are having the sysex load problems with other software, check to see if you can't adjust either the packet size or the delay between sent packets. This appears to give the WS more time to digest the incoming data stream.
